Audience in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Governing Officers of the Gulbenkian Foundation, who promoted the platform “Health in Portugal”, to approach a new vision on health and health care in the country, and to present him with a report prepared by a committee of international and national experts, headed by Lord Nigel Crisp.
The President of the Republic attended the prize award dinner of the 8th “Portugal Solidarity Cup” Golf Tournament, which enjoys his High Patronage, and during which the competition’s revenues were presented to “Existir – Association for the Intervention and Rehabilitation of Disabled and Disadvantaged Persons”, headquartered in Loulé.
Ajuda National Palace
On the occasion of the State Visit to Portugal of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Mrs. Ani Bambang Yudhoyono, President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva hosted a dinner in Ajuda National Palace, at the beginning of which both President Cavaco Silva and his Indonesian counterpart delivered speeches.

The President of the Republic presided at the inaugural act of the Santarém Diocesan Museum, during which he delivered an address.
The President of the Republic presided, in the headquarters of the Champalimaud Foundation, in Lisbon, at the award ceremony of the 2014 António Champalimaud Vision Prize, which distinguished, in this edition, seven researchers who stood out due to their work on the development of anti-angiogenic therapies, in situations of diabetic retinopathy and age related macular degeneration.

“In the terms of item h) of art. No. 133 of the Constitution, the President of the Republic discharged, at his request and as proposed by the Prime Minister, Eng. Carlos Manuel Felix Moedas from his duties as Assistant Secretary of State to the Prime Minister.”
The Arraiolos Group holds informal meetings of EU Heads of State from Portugal, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Latvia and Poland. Its objective is to provide an open and informal debate between these Heads of State, specifically concerning European issues. The first meeting, upon a Portuguese initiative, was held in Arraiolos in 2003. The meetings are normally held on an annual basis.

Arrival at Arganil
The President of the Republic presided at the Commemorative Ceremonies of the Day of Arganil Municipality and of the 900th Anniversary of the Charter of Arganil, where he delivered an address.
The President of the Republic answered affirmatively the request from the President of the Republic of Mozambique asking for the deployment of military observers to monitor the cease-fire in that Country.
