The “Athletes at Belém Palace” Programme was open to basic and secondary education schools from all over the country and ran from 8 October to 11 December 2019.
The objective of this initiative is to deepen young people's interest in different sports, through meetings and moments of dialogue between students and athletes, whose work has greatly contributed to the greater social appreciation of sports and the prestige of our country.
With this initiative, the President of the Republic intends to underline the importance of policies to promote sport and physical activity, as a contribution to the balanced development of people and contemporary societies.
This initiative was aided by the collaboration of the Olympic Committee of Portugal.
